How to Naturally Heal from Eczema – Detoxification

To heal from any degenerative disease such as eczema, that has been caused by the accumulation of toxins (the steroidal creams and meds) and nutritional deficiencies, a detoxification must take place first.  Detoxification basically means cleansing the blood.  It does this mainly by removing the impurities from the blood in the liver, where toxins are processed for elimination.  The body also eliminates toxins through the kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymph system and skin.  Unfortunately when this system is compromised, impurities aren’t properly filtered and every cell in the body is adversely affected.

This healing process takes place in three stages of detoxification: 1. elimination of toxins, 2. breakdown and removal of diseased cells and 3. rebuilding of tissues.  Just follow these steps and you will find your body healing from eczema!

1. Elimination of Toxins

This is the discarding of toxins stored throughout the tissues of the body. These are eliminated once a good clean diet provides the minerals and organic nutrients to cells to generate enough energy to carry toxins out of the body via the elimination processes.

Toxins are eliminated through various channels, the normal channels with their signs of elimination are:

  • Lungs (breathed out – may manifest as bad breath, coughing)
  • Skin (a worsening of the eczema condition)*
  • Liver/bowel (dark, foul smelling stools)
  • Kidneys (dark, strong smelling urine)

* In eczema, the normal channels of elimination (kidney and liver) are so overtaxed that the body ends up using an alternate avenue of elimination; the skin.  Once your diet is improved and the drugs are eliminated, the body will first heal the overtaxed and congested detoxification organs (kidney and liver).  This will result in your eczema becoming worse in the beginning stages of your healing process because of the cleansing that takes place in the liver and kidneys.  Whatever you do, don’t give up!!  A natural, holistic healing of eczema takes patience, remember it’s working from the inside out.

2. Breakdown and Removal of Diseased Cells

Diseased cells that are caused from “toxin abuse” are broken down by the body and removed.  This process is mainly carried out by the white blood cells.  If any of the raw materials of the cell can be salvaged and reused they are put into circulation; the rest is eliminated from the body.  This is an important process to a natural healing of eczema.

3. Rebuilding of Tissues

This stage is all about the body replacing the diseased cells with new healthy ones.  The majority of the rebuilding of the tissues take place after the body is well on its way to being “detoxified” and “disease tissue” free.  Prior to this final major rebuilding phase, the body will replace diseased tissues one generation at a time, each generation of cells will be a little healthier than its predecessors, because a cell can only be as healthy, as its environment is detoxified.  It’s important to know that there isn’t an instant relief in natural healing.  This holistic healing of eczema takes time, but it’s well worth the time and effort!

You’ve got to realize that the body heals in stages on a priority basis, meaning that the most important parts of the body get the healing attention before the less vital tissues.  Healing the internal organs will first take place before the skin fully heals.  In fact, the skin is the last organ the body will work on to heal.  Expect the intestinal tract, the endocrine gland, the liver and kidneys to go through a healing and repair process before the skin does.  This is why you shouldn’t be alarmed when you experience that your skin starts look a lot worse at the beginning stages of this process.  Your body is detoxifying and literally pushing these toxins through your skin.  The more medical drugs, herbal formulas etc you’ve taken to suppress your symptoms of eczema, the longer it will take to heal your damaged skin.

In my situation, my eczema flared up really badly for a good four months, somewhat calmed down then flared up again months later!  It was all over at first, then started to taper off to just my legs and feet.  That is because the healing process isn’t only an inside (first) outside (last) healing, but once the skin starts to heal its from the top of your body to the bottom of your body (heals through your extremities; hands and feet last).  I would experience super clear, smooth facial skin, and the skin on my torso all the while my feet were still oozing lymph fluid and swollen.  I’m currently two and a half years in, and I now feel that I’m nearing the end of this process.  I had to remember that the toxins I had built up were 26 years of medical drugs, and 6 months of intensive chemo, and that it was going to take some time to eliminate them all.  I want to encourage you to stay the course of this healing process no matter how insane your skin looks, just know that you are doing the best possible thing for your body to get it back on the right track to amazing health!  You don’t want to resort to the creams and pills when your skin starts to get a little scary because that would cancel out all the hard work you’ve done.  Remember, you’re a warrior… you can do this!!!

Reactivation/retracing (the process of healing):

In order for the body to deal with or heal a part of the body, it must bring it into priority or reactivate it. This means that the body is bringing to the surface or focusing on a specific gland, organ, system or tissue of the body for cleansing/rebuilding activity. This gland, organ, system or tissue of the body has been “on hold” from healing activity due to lack of nutrients, emotional stress, other priorities, etc.

When a diseased or previously injured area of the body is brought back into focus or reactivated for healing, the symptoms that went with that particular stress will again manifest themselves to some degree. Remember that the symptoms the body manifested with the original disease or injury were an attempt at healing. This, of course, was somehow blocked with drugs or stress of some kind; thus the symptoms and healing were put “on hold”. Now with reactivation, the same healing symptoms will once again manifest themselves.  Here’s an example…. every time I stopped using the steroid creams after my eczema patches “cleared up” my skin started to break right back out again.  It broke out because it was starting to go through the healing process and I just suppressed it by slathering on the same cream to “clear it up” again, so the healing process was put “on hold”.

What can you do to aid your body during detoxification?

Your body needs all the energy it can take to heal, so be easy on yourself and conserve your energy!  Remember that the symptoms you’re feeling are not the enemy, but they are your body’s attempt to defeat the enemy and get back to great health!

  • Avoid exerting intense physical energy.
  • Mild exercise is helpful, if the body dictates.
  • Take in little amounts of food – let your appetite dictate specific foods and amounts, if anything at all is desired.
  • Drink at minimum, 8 glasses of filtered water… more is even better!!
  • Avoid toxic substances i.e. caffeine, alcohol, highy acidic foods etc.
  • Keep the body in an alkalinized state (eat lots of nutrient dense foods).
  • Take healing whole food supplements, probiotics and digestive enzymes.
  • Mental activity should be kept at a minimum and avoid emotional stress.
  • Most importantly, make sure to get lots of rest!

Other ways to help with your detox:

  • Colon cleansing! – I have found doing enemas to really help in my healing process. It’s amazing how much built up fecal matter we can have in our colons from years of waste that hasn’t been properly eliminated. Water bottle enemas are a deeper cleansing method that I highly recommend to help out the body in repairing the skin and overall health. Here are two videos that I recommend to check out for more info: How & Why to do an Enema  Enema and Colonic irrigation what’s the difference?
  • Dry body brush!  –  Before showering, dry brush your body from head-to-toe, using long strides toward the heart. This activates the lymphatic system, stimulates blood circulation, and enhances toxin elimination through our body’s largest organ — the skin!
  • Fasting! –  Doing different kinds of fast are great deeper cleansing methods that one can do to help out in the healing of illnesses. Juice fasts with just fresh pressed organic veggie juices can give the body super easy to digest nutrients to repair the cells. Juice fasting/feasting is an effective fasting method because they body isn’t using energy to digest the fiber in the fruit and veggies so all of the energy can be spent on healing the body. Fruit is the more powerful of the juices to use. Check out this Detox Pyramid for more info.
  • Hemp oil –  Taking a broad spectrum liposomal sonicated nano enhanced hemp oil can greatly help in the detox process. We are constantly in the sympathetic nervous system…our “fight or flight” state because of our toxic and stressful lives. Taking a quality hemp oil can help to put us in our parasympathetic nervous system “rest, repair & renew” where healing can finally happen. Going through the detox process is highly stressful, Hemp Oil can help replenish the endocannabinoid system which is the master system of the body, regulating the immune, endocrine and nervous system allowing you to be more at peace, calm, get better sleep, less inflammation and discomfort in the body and help with a myriad of issues. I’ve found less itch and inflammation in my skin, deeper more restful sleep, lifted feelings of anxiety and high stress, less allergies and menstrual discomfort. This is the hemp oil I use and highly recommend, you can find it HERE Shoot me an email at if you have questions and want to know more! Here is a quick video on the hemp oil and a hemp education playlist.
  • Jump!  –  Rebounding is great for stimulating the lymphatic system and increasing circulation. Small, portable trampolines are a quick and easy way to build jumping into your daily routine.  Don’t have a rebounder? Do some jumping jacks!
  • Oil Pulling!  –  Oil pulling comes from Ayurvedic traditional medicine and it’s basically pulling out the toxins and bacteria from your mouth and draining out the lymphatic system of toxins!  This is something that I do every other day, and sometimes everyday.  What you do is first thing in the morning (I do this after i’ve had my 32 oz of water), you want to take a spoonful of extra virgin organic coconut oil and swish it vigorously around your mouth for 15-20 minutes as if you were swishing mouthwash.  Make sure to NOT SWALLOW, if this happens you’re pretty much swallowing the toxins that you’re trying to get rid of… no bueno!  Once you’re done swishing you should spit it out in a trash bin (I wouldn’t recommend spitting it down the drain because it could solidify and clog up).  Then you should take a tongue scraper and go to work!  It’s amazing how the oil will stick to all the impurities in your mouth and become thick and white, sometimes yellow.  rinse out your mouth with water and brush your teeth etc.  You may experience some detox symptoms, but don’t give up, your body is healing and just trust that it knows what it’s doing!  When I started, my face broke out badly, with oozy spots of lymph fluid.  It was uncomfortable, but it oozed, crusted, then flaked off, and this was in a matter of days.  Once all that was finished my facial skin was baby soft and I haven’t experienced facial flares like that ever again!  Oil pulling also whitens teeth, freshens your breath, alleviates gum diseases such as gingivitis, is great for mouth sores and it’s a great remedy if you have a headache!
  • Sweat!  –  Although sweating can make people with eczema super itchy, is crucial for expelling toxins.  Although I haven’t tried it, I’ve heard about using an infrared sauna would help in assisting the removal of heavy metal toxins that can be stored in the fat tissues.

  1. Hi
I just wanted to say what you said made a lot of sense i am currently in the process of curing my eczema through liver detox’s meaning i try to eat a lot of foods that are good for my liver. I drink lemon water on the weekends. A few hours ago i realised my skin got a liver darker and also i started to urinate a lot. Every 5/10 minutes i was back in the bathroom flushing the toxins out. I hope that is correct anyway nevetheless i wanted to ask you what else can i do to lighten my skin colour. At this rate it is difficult to stay brave especially since my hair breaks my confidence. Hope to heat from you soon.

    1. Hello Zain! Thanks for reaching out to me! That’s great that you’re taking steps to eat healthier and drink more water to cleanse. The skin discolouration issue will take some time to even out, it’s similar to my skin…time is the only healer. Please send me a quick email to and I can help you out with more tips and suggestions on diet and such. Healing from the inside out is the only way to go, and it’s great that you are on the right track!

I look forward to hearing from you,

      1. i have patches of dark hyper pigmented scars all over the body…my dry skin has got reversed on this diet..will the scars go?? iam also going to be taking an ayurvedic tonic recommended by a doc soon…will the dark pigmented patches go away..if so how long do you think it will take?? i have these patches dispersed all over my body!

      2. Hi! Unfortunately it can take awhile for the skin tone to even out. It’s super important to eat antioxidant rich and hydrating foods (fruits and veggies) in abundance as these foods will help the skin in texture, and be consistent with this. It’s known that turmeric used topically can help with the tone of the skin, like in making a mask, letting it sit the. washing it off. I use a homemade cream
mix of geranium, frankincense and sandalwood essential oils with jojoba, shea and coconut oil. This mix is great for discolouration and scarring. Here’s where I get my high quality, therapeutic grade essential oils: I also alternate with a organic micro blue green algae lotion that I get from here: these are both my store sites. This algae lotion is rich in nutrients and antioxidants and also is great for discolouration and scarring. You can check out photos of success with this lotion in my Soaps and Moisturizing page. I’ll send you a personal email with more info. I hope all this helps!
        Take care & God bless,

      3. Hi Allison, I highly recommend a vegan diet with the addition of whole food supplements. Preferably high carb low fat vegan just whole foods in it’s most natural form, no processed foods. High carb meaning carbs from fruit, starches, whole grains etc not white processed breads etc. Whole food fats not oils so avocados instead of avo oil, ground flax instead of flax oil etc. Alkaline foods are plant based foods and disease cannot thrive in an alkaline environment. Check out more info on this page: I will email you a health questionnaire which can help me get to know you better and I can offer suggestions according to your personal situation. I don’t have a set amount that I charge for my services, but people give a donation of any amount to my paypal account for it. If this is of interest to you, you can fill it out and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can with my suggestions!
        Take care & God bless,

  2. Hi… Jus wanna find out how to adjust to the diet as I am currently breastfeeding a 7 month old infant. My eczema started 6 month post delivery.

    1. Hi Karen!
Thanks for checking out my site leaving a comment! It’s best to eat more of a plant based diet because it’s very healing and high in alkalinity. You can shoot me an email and I can send you meal suggestions, natural healing tips etc that I send to my readers 🙂

      Take care,

      1. Hello,
I’v have been dealing with eczema for almost 5 years on and off.
I started to change my diet a few weeks ago as a vegetarian and I still have dark patches on my hands, legs, neck, and a little bit on my face. I am embarrassed to walk around with it, it is insane. I have been using natural products for my skin like Aloe Vera plants and Shea butter the White thick container with natural ingredients. It been almost a month still with the same results. I really don’t know what am I doing wrong. D you have any suggestion?

      2. Hello Niqua! Thanks for reaching out! I’m so sorry to hear that you’re suffering with this, I’ll do my best to get your health back on track. Look out for my health questionnaire email where I can get to know you better and provide natural healing tips and advice. I would go fully vegan and cut the eggs and dairy products as they are highly inflammatory, and stick to a whole foods vegan diet, don’t do processed vegan junk foods. I’ll look at more of your history to get an idea, but you can definitely start there. I look forward to your responses!
        Take care & God bless,

  3. Hello,

My daughter is 4 with chronic eczema shes had it since she was born. Do u think its a good idea to cleanse her blood and change diet, and if so what should i cleanse her bllod with. She has allergies to peanuts and fish. I just want her to have some relief

    1. Hi Lakia! Thanks for messaging me! Yes it’s definitely a great idea to switch up her diet to a more plant based diet and work on gut healing. Please send me a personal email to I will be able to email you a health questionnaire for your daughter where I can get to know more of her health history & understand her situation better and offer diet and natural healing tips! She should avoid foods that she is allergic to, then once proper gut healing has taken place these foods can most likely be added back in with no problems! I look forward to your email! She can definitely heal up her eczema! 👍☺️

      Take care,

    1. Hi Ying!
I haven’t heard of that lotion before, but my rule of thumb when it comes to emollients is if you can essentially eat it, then you can put it on your skin because these ingredients go into the blood stream, not just the skins surface. This is why I only use natural products: shea butter, coconut jojoba and olive oils & essential oils. Check out this post I did on the itching: You can also shoot me an email if you’d like for more tips and healing advice! ☺️
      Take care!

  4. Hi, this is so helpful!
I have been dealing with really bad eczema ever since winter started. Mostly it is on my eyelids. I have started eating mostly plant based/ anti inflammatory foods, taken an allergy test and eliminated allergens, and stopped using skin and hair products. When I made all of these changes, my eczema improved almost instantly! But about a week or two later, it got really itchy and flared up. Now it’s still pretty bad. It definitely feels itchier than ever and kinda flakey. I’ve been using coconut oil and avoiding showering. I’m giving dry brushing and oil pulling a try. I just picked up some neem oil so I’m hoping that will soothe some of the inflammation. I’m just wondering if you have any tips for eyelid/face specific eczema? It’s much more sensitive than the eczema on my arm and neck. It’s very reactive to stress and foods. I feel like I’m doing all of the right things and was so excited when it started to clear up. Now I’m feeling a bit discouraged, trying not to stress about it… Is this just part of the healing and detox process?
    Thanks for the great article.

    1. Hi Katie! I’m so glad this page could be of help to you! That’s awesome that you’ve made those lifestyle changes. When you switch up your diet to non-processed and alkaline you will feel much better and then indeed go through a cleansing period. Definitely do the dry brushing and oil pulling, I notice when I oil pull my facial skin is a lot smoother and less flaky. You can dry brush your face too, maybe use a lil dry loofa facial pad although sometimes I just use the same brush as my body and just do it lightly. You can try doing a mask with bentonite clay. I tried it before and need to give it a go again actually as I didn’t let the water and clay sit and thicken the first time around. African black soap is another good exfoliant type soap to use on the skin and will help lift off the flakes on your body and face. I’ve actually never tried neem oil. Jojoba oil is great too as it is closest to our skins natural oils. I will send you a personal email with a health questionnaire to get to know you better and I can provide you with some more tips! I hope all of this helps! I look forward to hearing from you 🙂
      Take care & God bless!

      1. Hi
I want to share my experience too. Right now, i’m having eczema on my face (on the right and left cheeks). The symptoms are quite common; flares-up, itchy feels, redness, dryness, scaly and sometimes flakey too.
My eczema began after i tried using cinnamon as my natural face mask, and apparently i had allergic to it.
It was two weeks ago, and the first flare up came up to my face a day after i used the cinnamon. After that another symptoms were slowly appear, until now.

Back then i had confusion whether i should go to the doctor or not. I just knew that I’m facing an eczema type called Contact Dermatitis, and after some researches, I found out that topical treatment from doctor isn’t the best solution. It could be dangerous for your skin. On the other hand, many people have tried using natural-healing by control what they eat and avoid things that can cause an eczema. I’ve read many positive results, and my minds are opened, then I decide to cure my eczema on my own.

Now it is still very bad, but the itch started to disappear. The color started to turn from red into brown. I was wondering what are the stages should I face within the healing process? Do you have another tips for treating my eczema?
For your information, I’m using olive oil as a self treatment, and I’m on my eczema diet too.

I’m looking forward for your answer, thank you for helping! I’m sorry because English is not my first language so please excuse any mistakes I’ve made..

      2. Hello Ifa! Thanks for your comment and don’t worry your English is great! Check out my page Physical Symptoms and Signs of Healing from Eczema. The redness going down and it turning to brown is a good sign! The skin will do a lot of flaking and such as well. I will email you a health questionnaire so I can get to know you better and assist with your situation. I’m glad that you’ve taken a more natural approach! Healing from the inside out is key to healing eczema. I look forward to your detailed responses!
        Take care & God bless,

  5. Hi! I went fully vegan and mostly cutting out refined oils about a year ago. Strangely enough my eczema came back about 8 months after making the switch. It seemed like my body was healing and finally ready to get the excess junk out of my system. But now I feel like it’s asking for help. Although I’m giving it a great amount of nutrient rich vegan food, I was 60 pounds heavier a year ago and it seems like there’s a lot to flush out of my system. Do you have suggestions about what else I can do? Is it okay to email you about some of these?
    Thanks so much!

    1. Carrie! Thanks for reaching out!Awesome job on making the switch! Yes it does seem like you’re going through a cleansing period. I would definitely look into doing an enema (with just water and the enema bag) or getting a colonic done. I’ve been doing enemas lately for deeper cleansing and have found it’s helping clear out all the junk in my colon that’s prob been there for years 😱 I found out that we can have all the nutrient dense food in the world but if our colon isn’t clean we could be not absorbing all of the nutrients from that food! I’ll send you a health questionnaire to get to know you better and give more suggestions!
      Take care & God bless,

  6. Hi Jen… Thanks so much for all you do! I recently went fully plant-based after repeatedly trying to and falling off the wagon. Odd thing is, I have never had a problem with eczema before. After starting the plant- based lifestyle, I started noticing little red dots on different parts of my body, although not very bad. Recently, I had done some gardening in my front yard , and the next morning, these spots got much worse, more red and terrible itching, turning into a quarter- sized red patch on the outer side of each eye. I was afraid that this would hurt my eyes, but also afraid to go to the doctor and be put on a ton of medication that could harm me (and I am a nurse, can you believe?… lol) Just didn’t want to mess up the detox that my body so badly needs. So I had bought 1% hydrocortisone, even though this is not what I wanted to do, and it helped clear it up a little, but it’s back. I have been googling about natural treatments, and I have been trying castor oil applications along with manuka honey and virgin organic coconut oil, all at separate times, and it helps lessen the redness, but never for long. Just at my wits ends. This has been going on for over 3 weeks.

    1. Hi Jaleine! Thanks so much for your kind words! I’m glad the info on my site has resonated with you! I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing these symptoms. It definitely seems to be detox symptoms as the body will use any avenue it needs to cleanse. That’s why we can feel lethargic, have more eliminations and have skin rashes when we’re detoxing. Just changing up your diet to a plant based one gives the body the nutrients and fiber it’s been needing to clean house. I’m glad that you are looking in to natural treatments as the hydrocortisone is terrible for the skin, only gives temporary and never gets to the root cause. I will email you a health questionnaire I’d like you to fill out and I can get to know you better and assist with your personal situation! I look forward to your detailed responses!
      Take care & God bless,

  7. Wow…what an article!!!my son,now 9,started to show signs of eczema on his feet last year April/may…this year I contacted an iridologist and we started with natural herb medication…two weeks ago he also sent my son natural liver detox meds…looks like all the bad stuff from inside is coming out now…his feet is oozing and a.bit swollen…so when i read your article this morning I felt positive!!I must just stay positive an continue and complete the detox!
    Thanx again

    1. Hello Marilize! I’m so glad this resonated with you! I’m sorry to hear that your son is suffering, but going through this healing crisis is a great sign that his body is starting to work efficiently and cleanse the way it should! I’ll send you a health questionnaire that I like to send to my readers so I can help provide tips and suggestions to get through this process! Happy healing to your son, it will get worse before it gets better (as you guys are seeing now) but it WILL get better, just stay the course and like you said keep that positivity up!
      Take care & God bless,

  8. Hello
My name is caroline morgan and I have had eczema my entire life. I was wondering if a blood cleanser that has burdock root , dandelion root and yellow dock root would help me?

    1. Hello Caroline! Thanks for reaching out! Cleansing with herbs can help (make sure that it’s from a trusted source), but it has to be in conjunction with a whole diet change. Using herbs and natural topical treatments are great, but getting to the root cause is most important and that is cleansing from the inside out. I’ll email you a health questionnaire you can fill out and I can give you more tips on natural healing and how to overcome eczema.
      Take care & God bless,

  9. This has been so helpful. I am currently going through the healing crisis. Is it ok to use aquaphor and Nivea lotion?

    1. I’m glad this info resonated with you! I definitely wouldn’t, I used Aquaphor for years and finally realized how terrible it was for me because it’s a petrochemical. You only wanna put natural moisturizers on your skin because whatever you apply to the skin gets absorbed into the bloodstream. My rule of thumb is “if you can essentially eat it you can put it on your skin”. I’ll email you a health questionnaire so I can give you more natural remedies and healing suggestions :).
      Take care & God bless,

  10. Hi Jen,

Thanks for your sharing and it’s very helpful! I’ve been suffered from Eczema for many years and there is a big breakout recently, I’m trying natural treatment and avoiding steroid, but the process is slow…my skin is oozing and itchy, so is it getting worse or a turning point? Eczema is killing me and your experience encouraged me a lot to fight with it.

    Best regards,

    1. Hi Cindy! I’m glad my story could give you some encouragement! It will indeed get worse before it gets better as the body has to withdrawal the toxins out. I will send you a health questionnaire to fill out so I can give natural healing suggestions on how to battle through this. Hang in there!
      Take care & God bless,

  11. Hi Jen
I got eczema about 3 weeks ago after going through something stressful in my life. It covers my arms, legs, back, abdomen, chest and my joints are swollen. I’ve never experienced anything like this and so quickly! Doc have prescribed diprobase emollient and a 0.1% steroid cream, i take antihistamines for the severe itching. None of it works. My skin is so dry even after moisturising, the itching is so bad i get 2 hours sleep a day and during the day the intensity is overbearing. I was told to dry brush whenever i have the urge to itch which is all the time! I am waiting for dead sea salts to arrive for baths. I have changed everything i use to chem free stuff. My depression and stess bought in my eczema and Doc says i need to stop being stessed and it will clear…eczema itself is strssing me out! I desparately seeking help

    1. Hello Nisha,
I’m so sorry to hear about what you’ve been going through! Emotional stress can take such a toll on our bodies and indeed make our skin flare. Definitely stay away from those prescribed creams and look into natural moisturizers like those on my Suggested soaps and moisturizers page on my blog. I will send you a separate email where I can get to know your situation more and suggest more healing tips. Dry brushing is great and should be done only on dry flaky skin, not raised red or oozy skin. Look out for my email and I’ll get back to your detailed responses with my suggestions as soon as I can!
      Hang in there!

  12. Dear Jen, some researches suggest that eczema is caused by Ascaris worm, that is why the ups and downs. What do you recon?
    Sincerelly, Zsuzsa

    1. Hi Zsuzsa! I can definitely see how intestinal worms can cause other health issues like eczema. Eczema is the direct result to a poor digestive tract and detox systems. If the body is housing intestinal worms then it’s for sure not cleansing properly. When the detox channels (liver, gut, kidneys) aren’t cleansing properly then the detox burden is left to the skin to deal with. What is going on externally is our body’s way of saying “wake up I need to cleanse, something isn’t right inside! I need proper nutrition!” I will email you a health questionnaire and you can fill it out if you’d like to get some suggestions and recommendations on natural healing of your eczema. Any internal parasites can definitely be cleansed out naturally. Papaya seeds are actually a perfect remedy for that!
      Take care & God bless,

  13. Hi. Just reading through the blog. I have also had eczema since child hood. Now i am 25 years old. When i was 23 it went so bad that i was bed bound. Then i decided and also the doctor recommended i go abroad to a hot country so i went pakistan. Miraculously my eczema pretty much dissapeared. I was there for 8 months. Since i been back my skin is going dull again and also a bit red. I have avoided steroid creams for nearly 3 years now. Also i have asthma as well. So some times i have to take the steroid inhaler. Can you give me any tips. I am from uk the city i am from the water is high in chlorine which also is knows to affect the liver and skin. I have been in touch with a kiniseologist and he has given me glutamine for leaky guy he has given me digestivr enzymes and also something for my liver. I have also been on a plant based diet for three months now.

    1. Hasan, thanks for checking out my blog and reaching out to me! I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been suffering with this. The warm weather can definitely do wonders for the skin, soaking up that sun helps so much! I’m sad to hear that your skin has been flaring lately, but glad that you’re on a plant based diet and working on naturally healing! I will email you a health questionnaire that way I can get to know you better and give suggestions and such on healing. Hang in there, the body knows exactly what it’s doing and it usually has to get worse before it gets better.

    1. Hi there! I’m sorry you’re going through this but I’m proud of you for working on healing your skin! Anytime you make a positive change like adopt a healthy diet, stop addictive meds like steroid creams your body will go through a healing crisis where it can “get worse before it gets better” stay the course! I will email you a health questionnaire so I can assist better with suggestions and such. Stay strong!
      Take care & God bless,

  17. Hi, I have contact dermatitis. It’s really itchy and the only thing that can take it away is by taking oral steriod drugs but when i stopped taking it, after a few days it will come back. It’s been six months already until now. I’ve done a lot of research how to heal it and I am glad i was able to see your blog. I am starting to detoxify my body and i just wanna ask if it’s fine to take food supplements like glutathione or whitening supplements while I’m on a process of detoxifiying.

    1. Hi Jb,
Yes it’s so easy to become addicted to the steroids and to experience withdrawal/detox symptoms when you come off of it. I’m so glad you found my site as well! What are whitening supplements? I’ve never heard of this. Glutathione is great to take, just make that it’s a trusted brand with no fillers, preservatives and its a whole food based supplement. I sell a product with it in it that is pure and high quality, it an antioxidant blend and you can find it here (my store site link): I will also email you a health questionnaire, you can fill it out if you’d like for more natural healing tips and recommendations. That same store link that I sent has more awesome products like enzymes, probiotics, an algae lotion (mentioned in my “Suggested Soaps and Moisturizers” page with testimonials) and more! I will give more info on which products I have my clients get on to help them detoxify and heal from the inside out. I look forward to hearing from you! I hope all of this helps!
      Take care & God bless,

      1. Hi There I got a four-year-old son who’s been suffering from bad eczema since he’s born and now we have found a natural pathic doctor who’s doing his treatment and she just started, it only been 2 weeks but im really worried because as I was kept reading your story he has gone into a worse eczema where is shin breaking out And bleeding by itching Because I couldn’t stop seeing him suffer that bad I was nearly about to withdraw his treatment but after reading ur story I gain a bit of confidence and now I’m not gonna stop as I thought before . But could you please go bit deeper about skin worsening eczema while detoxing

      2. Hi Suganya, I’m sorry to hear about your son! I’m so glad you’re getting him treatment. Yes, it can get worse before it gets better unfortunately. The body has to cleanse and repair. When you’re using things like steroids to suppress the symptoms on the skin, when you stop using them the body will go through a healing crisis, so everything you’ve been trying to suppress will come back x 10. The body will work on healing the internal organs first then three last organ the skin will repair. I’ll send you a health questionnaire that you can fill out in detail if you’d like additional support. Hang in there! 💜

  18. Fantastic article, very helpful. Thank you so much. Iv’e been trying to heal my eczema holistically for about 2 years now without much success. I’m on the right path now I feel and it’s healing very nicely. Much gratitude for you, thank you.

    1. Hi Jesse, I’m glad my info resonated with you! I’m glad that you feel like you’re healing well, I know how rough and long the road can be. I’ll shoot you a personal email if you’d like some additional help on your journey! Hang in there, and keep trusting in your body’s natural ability to heal 💜
      Take care & God bless!

  19. Hi,
My 15yr old daughter has had mild eczema her whole life. It started to flare up more about 1.5yrs ago so she went off gluten – it helped a lot. Then, about 8mos ago, she decided she wanted to go on a vegetarian diet (plus no gluten, no dairy). Her skin was doing pretty great until about 2mos in where she started flailing up in new places (eyelid, back, chest). Now, 6mos later, her eczema is worse than it’s ever been. She has permanent dark, dry spots all over her back, chest and arms and even her eyelid. She is a very active basketball player and always makes sure to shower soon after sweating. We use free and clear detergent. She’s gone through all types of skin creams/lotions – cetaphil cream, natural aloe gel, unrefined shea butter, coco butter – none of this is helping. She’s taking: vitamin D, krill oil, cell salts, collagen powder. We are totally lost on what happened and where to go from here. She’d like to do a detox but Ive seen so much conflicting info out there on what a person with eczema’s detox should look like.
Do you know why it’s so bad after becoming a non-dairy, non-gluten vegetarian?
    Really appreciate your advice.

    1. Hi there! I’m sorry to hear about your daughter and what she’s going through. I know firsthand how rough this can be. I’d love to help you guys in her healing process, but it would help if I got some more info so I can understand her situation more. I’ll email you a health questionnaire and you can fill it out in detail. I’ll get back to you with my suggestions, lots of info emails to help her in the process and support to get through this. It’s great she’s switched up her diet, a good idea is to take out eggs from the diet too (vegetarians tend to still consume eggs and dairy) and focus on a whole food vegan diet without processed foods. She’ll get better for sure, cleansing from the inside out needs to be done and it can take time and when you clean up your diet more it’s not uncommon for your skin to “get worse before it gets better”, but it’s the best way to heal. I look forward to your responses so I can really get her some help in healing!
      Take care & God bless,

  20. What do you recommend to remove the dead skin from the body? My son is shedding tons of dead skin and when I apply ply oils I can feel all the dead skin which causes itching and. Extreme dryness. His skin feels like lizard skin literally and he feels so uncomfortable. What can I do? I am desperate .

    1. Hi Yvette. How old is he? You should be dry brushing his skin. Be gentle and only do it on dry skin, not oozing open wounds. Here’s more info: Also make sure to fill out the questionnaire I sent, I can resend it for you. It can help me give you more info on how to help your son. I know this is so rough, and I can provide you with help so don’t have to feel alone in this.

  22. I can see how skin conditions can get worse before it gets better. HOWEVER, i believe there needs to be a cautionary warning on skin lesions, oozes, crusting, etc. I had an ionic footbath months ago. I originally had atopic dermatitis rashes on both legs and feet only when i started out on this treatment. I had also had this rash for about 4 years. Other than that i enjoyed good health, even at 51. After this ionic footbath treatment, however, it appeared to put my body in a healing crisis state where it started dumping out toxins faster than my body could handle, including new rashes, legs and feet swollen, skin secretions, etc. Since i am into holistic healing and could easily believe this to be a healing/retracing experience, i pushed thru all this until my face swelled up like crazy and my left eye got swollen shut. It then became time to visit ER . Upon culture swab results, they said i had staph infection and i was admitted and hospitalized. To try and make a long story short the next 5 months my body would get better then flare up, including skin lesions that now appeared on other parts of my body, my arms were now diagnosed with atopic dermatitis even though they looked like burns. even on my legs, as they would weep and open up making me more vulnerable to staph infections again. If i ignored the crusts and weeping i may have died because the infection spread throughout my body, just short of sepsis. I wasn’t keen on the antibiotics and steroids i had to take but they saved my life. I will have to rebuild from here. Not surprisingly people with eczema, atopic dermatitis etc etc have compromised skin conditions that easily make us susceptible to secondary bacterial infections. Please be careful out there everyone!! I believe the ionic foot bath stirred up my lymph gland which stores all the toxins and harmful substances, suppressed disease from drugs (?) i including my staph infection from decades ago which put me into the crazy detox mode it did…i would advise those with atopic derm or eczema on their feet or maybe in general to be cautious about undertaking an ionic footbath. I believe i would have been able to heal my rash condition at a much safer and slower pace without the foot bath.

    1. Wow! That’s crazy you experienced all of that! Yea it’s true sometimes we can push the body to detox too fast! Glad you’re doing better now! I’m against antibiotics, but if it’s absolutely necessary then yea def go for it. Thanks again for the heads up on the iconic foot bath.
