Guest Post on the Eczema Itch

16 Ways to Combat Eczema Itch with Natural Eczema Treatments

I recently did a guest post for Prime Physique Nutrition on the awful eczema itch and ways that we can help the symptoms. Shout to Abby for letting me contribute to her wonderful website!

Healing from the inside out is most important when tacking eczema and all of the horrendous symptoms that come along with it. Focusing on diet and detoxification is key, I cannot stress it enough. When the body is cleansed from the inside out and in a more alkaline state, the diseases we are plagued with cannot thrive! 🙂

Make sure to check out the blog post HERE.

Additional Info with the Guest Post:

The Calming Bath Treatment is mentioned in number 4 in the post and I personally find it very soothing when I soak with it. It leaves the skin smooth and hydrated because of the healthy, natural moisturizing ingredients in it.

The Conqueror Soothing Dry Skin Balm is mentioned in number 7 and I also loves this product as it smells divine, gives the skin a well-hydrated feel without feeling too heavy. and a little goes a long way with it.

Essential oils are mentioned in number 16 and I have a blog post where I specifically talk about the natural antihistamine blend HERE with my store site link in the post as well. I love this blend and product because of how effective it is and how it always gives me a calming relief in such a short time. It can really knock out any allergy issues and calm down an itch fest. Another blend that is effective is my Sleepy Time Diffuser Blend which can give calming relief and restful sleep. Diffusing that blend and taking the natural antihistamine blend is like a one-two punch for effective rest for eczema sufferers.

I hope all of these tips have helped! If anyone needs coaching support, want to just reach out, want to vent or need advice…please feel free to contact me via email: eczema.holistic.healing@gmail.com I’m always happy to hear from my readers and get you the support that you need! ❤ -Jen

Banana Benefits

😜🍌Perfectly ripened bananas🍌😜 Make sure to always eat bananas nice & spotty because they are even better for the digestive tract and are super sweet! I’ll freeze them at this stage and blend for smoothies & thick nice cream! INFO: Never be afraid of the sugars in bananas, it’s totally different from the cane sugar & other processed sweeteners in cookies, cakes & doughnuts. Unlike processed sugar, the fruit sugar in bananas is bonded to critical life-supporting trace minerals such as manganese, selenium, copper, boron & molybdenum & a large amount of minerals such as potassium, which is one of the most critical nutrients for neurotransmitter function. Bananas are also high in amino acids that work with potassium as a catalyst for abundant electrolyte production. They are full of fiber, pulp & water & their sugar content is the very reason bananas have rich supplies of antioxidants, vitamins & other phytonutrients to help us fight disease. They are a powerful antiviral food, & high in tryptophan which can soothe sleep disorders, create calm, reduce anxiety & alleviate depression. And those who worry about Candida have no reason to fear bananas because they are the ultimate fungus destroyers, removing unproductive bacteria while feeding beneficial microorganisms in the intestinal tract. This also makes them b12 enhancing, because microbes in the gut can interrupt the ileum’s rightful process of producing b12. They are amazing digestive aids because they are antispasmodic on hyperactive colons, & they can alleviate gastric cramps and stress-related gastrointestinal diseases. They can help reverse colitis, Crohn’s and IBS. And lastly, they are great blood stabilizers, have stress-assist phytochemicals to get you through your day & help you balance your weight. Recipes! – Uses for Aloe Vera Gel

Adopt ALOE VERA GEL into your daily routine and see & feel the benefits in your skin and overall health!

SKIN: Rich in VitE, anti-inflammatory, prevents and removes wrinkles, gives glowing and super hydrated skin. You can apply it to freshly washed and dried skin, let it sit for 15 min then wash off, great for redness and inflammation, acne, sunburns, blemishes, dry skin etc. HAIR: Cut a large piece, blend and apply to scalp and hair (best if freshly washed), let it sit for 15 min and wash out! Strengthens and grows dry, brittle hair because it’s rich in folic acid & B12! EATING: Blend in juices & smoothies. Consume fresh aloe on a daily basis and it can actually help the skin more from the inside out! Rich in B12 which is great for vegans, contains tons of trace minerals, helps repair the gut & aids in any digestive distress like bloating, constipation etc. I love to add it to my celery x cilantro juice first thing in the morning, and I also love to add it to freshly blended melon juice (add fresh mint for another dimension of flavour)!

Here’s a great skin and digestive nourishing recipe: BLEND •2cups fresh pineapple •1 cucumber •about 2″x2″ piece of fresh aloe and a bit of water and ice if you’d like! Enjoy all the nourishing and hydrating benefits! Pineapples are rich in digestive enzymes (great for gut repair) & vitamin C (great as a natural antihistamine & immune support). #eczemaholistichealing

Hydration!

💦h y d r a t i o n💦

Last night on our group coaching call with Abby of Prime Physique Nutrition we had members from California, England, and Australia! 😃 ***If you’d like to sign up for the Conqueror Eczema Academy and be apart of our next round of LIVE coaching, make sure to click HERE!

We discussed many topics, and one of them was the importance of getting hydrated when you wake up in the morning. It’s not only important for people with skin issues but for anyone! We have to remember that we’ve pretty much been fasting all night, so it’s not uncommon to feel super thirsty and dehydrated with extra dry skin. Getting an ample amount of liquids in you in the morning not only helps you hydrate from the inside out by bathing your organs & cells but it stimulates digestion and flushes out toxins!

This is how I like to do it… it has become routine for me and super easy to do: First I like to drink a good amount of room temperature water, then I will drink my celery juice. This is a Medical Medium practice that I’ve adopted and love to do! There are so many health benefits with it, but here’s a few:

  • it’s great for skin health
  • alkalizing the body
  • flushing out toxins
  • aids in digestion
  • it gives me energy
  • and I instantly feel like my skin is refreshed when I drink it!

I like to add a knob of fresh ginger to mine, for extra anti-inflammatory and antibacterial benefits. A little while after that I will have my warm turmeric tea with lime. It’s basically warm lime or lemon water with the addition of turmeric and a tiny bit of black pepper & coconut oil to make it more bioavailable & to bring out the healing properties in it. Turmeric is highly anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich. After that I will have some fresh fruit, usually, it’s some sort of melon but today I did a mix of blood oranges, valencia oranges, and navel oranges. 🍊🍊🍊 It’s always best to consume fruit as the first meal of the day because it’s super easy to digest, and hydrating… we don’t want to burden the digestive tract with heavy, hard to digest foods because as I mentioned, we’ve been fasting all night. How do you like to hydrate in the morning?💦

This morning: fresh face…just moisturizer, messy hair don’t care 😜, feeling good-feeling great! …Working on more self-love 💚 Sometimes I look at my skin and only notice the wrinkles that still need to smooth out, or the discolouration and un-even tone that needs to even out. BUT then I check myself…tell myself “look at all you’ve been through with your skin and overall health, it’s not a sprint but a marathon, be kind to yourself, it can take time but you ARE healing and getting better every day!” I touch the areas of my skin that are super smooth, wrinkle-free and even-toned and I touch areas that are still in repair and I repeat, “everywhere else looks and feels like this, everywhere else looks and feels like this” 💜 Saying these words like a mantra, and touching the skin will give life, love and positive healing energy to those areas…the words will manifest and take root! Kiss your skin, touch your skin and tell it you love it, even if it’s angry at the moment…with all of the awful symptoms that come with this healing process…it will thank you 🙏 Be kind and gentle with yourself, your body is healing and taking its time to do so, you do right by it and it will be so right by you! #eczemaholistichealing

Papaya Love!

Get some delicious papaya in your diet for amazing skin health and an optimally functioning digestive system! 💚 Papaya is one of my top fave fruits because of its health benefits and its super sweet almost creamy caramel-like flavour! 😋 I will eat this delish fruit a few times a week!

❓Did you know❓… Papaya is rich in antioxidant nutrients such as carotenes (helps your skin glow & has anti-wrinkle properties), flavonoids and vitamin C, as well as vitamin B (folate and pantothenic acid), vitamin A and vitamin E. It is also a good source of fiber and minerals such as magnesium. Papaya contains an enzyme called papain that helps to break down proteins in the diet and improve the ecology of the gut providing it with a good dose of good bacteria, making it the perfect fruit for anyone suffering from digestive issues like constipation, stomach aches, inflamed intestinal linings, IBS etc. This amazing fruit will help mend the walls of the intestinal tract, reducing inflammation & preventing scar tissue from forming there. Papain is found in many supplements as well as skin care products which can help remove dead skin cells and purify the skin. The enzymes present in papayas (there are more than 500 undiscovered digestive enzymes!) especially the papain and chymopapain, reduce the inflammation in different parts of the body.

Did you know that eating the seeds of papayas are a great anti-germ remedy?! I would eat a spoonful of these seeds if I had any oozing skin. I’d make sure to take it on an empty stomach, crunch the seeds (while holding my nose lol) and swallow it down. This remedy can be done for about two weeks at most then take a week off and do another two weeks if needed. Papaya seeds also help to fight off bacterial and viral infections, parasites & intestinal worms, they can help detoxify the liver and can help combat Candida overgrowth.

TIPS: Look for the Mexican & Central American variety known as Maradol, they are preferable to the Hawaiian variety which has unfortunately suffered from GMO contamination. For the ultimate gut-health repair, drink a tonic of papaya blended with celery juice! #eczemaholistichealing 💜

Thomas’ 8 Day Juice Fast Experience!

My good friend Thomas was kind enough to allow me to do a blog post on his juice fast experience. I became friends with him a few years ago when we “met” online through a Topical Steroid Withdrawal forum. We’ve kept in contact ever since and have encouraged one another through the healing process over the years. I actually got the chance to meet him in person this past summer, and it was such a joy! We got a chance to hang out, eat ripe mangos (freshly picked that day might I add!) and cook some yummy vegan curry together! He was the first person I officially met from the online world and I look forward to hanging out with him in the future again! He has been working diligently and consistently in healing his skin, and I’m so proud of his success. I love that he’s not one to shy away from experimenting with different healing methods and I truly commend his efforts. It can take a bit of willpower to do a fast, but he jumps in full on and always keeps his focus on ways that he can help his skin repair, this is what drives him to stay dedicated. This is the same mentality that I recommend to those who reach out to me needing coaching support…to always remember that it’s not a sprint but a marathon, but all of the great things that you do for your body will add up as they are all cumulative. You have to take responsibility for your health, and not make it a quick fix, but a lifestyle…just incorporating healthier foods, making sure you sleep well, stay stress-free and get enough exercise…they all go together to aid in healing.
Juicing can help the skin as it allows the body to receive a concentrated amount of nutrients that are super easy to digest (because it is juiced, so no fiber is intact) which allows the body to spend less energy on digesting food, and more energy on healing the illness. Raw fruits and veggies are packed with enzymes (no cooking is involved), dense nutrients, minerals, vitamins, and tons of oxygen for the cells. I highly recommend if not doing a juice fast every once in awhile, at least incorporating a green juice into your daily meals. I like to have my green drink as the last thing that I consume at night as it gives me a great dose of anti-inflammatory nutrients for healing at night, and it gives me great eliminations in the morning (yea, I know TMI haha). I don’t have a juicer, but I just blend it with my high speed blender. If I wanted it like a juiced consistency then I could just put the liquid through a strainer. I switch it up, but my go-to green drink is usually kale, cilantro & parsley (great for heavy metal detox), spinach, romaine, ginger, apple for sweetness, a squirt of lime or lemon (vitamin c helps you absorb the nutrients better), celery and cucumber.
Various green drinks I’ve made in the past. Make sure to switch it up and keep it interesting!

Detox Food Pyramid

I like to focus on eating simply when the body is going through a healing crisis aka flares, this allows the body to do some deep cleansing and really repair. This is a great pyramid to show you how the body can cleanse on different foods. A water fast (which I’ve done a 3 & 5 day one before) can allow the body to put its energy strictly on healing because there’s no energy spent on digesting foods. If you look into doing a water fast start off slow with a 3 day one & sort out time to do it (because you’ll literally be just drinking water, urinating and resting, no energy to do anything else). Fruit is the easiest of foods to digest, and you can see it’s next on the pyramid. Melons are the fastest of foods to digest, so having a watermelon feast is another great cleansing method (I did a 3 day watermelon feast once aka watermelon island ). As you start going down the pyramid and adding veggies your detox can slow down and when you add cooked foods and especially nuts and seeds it can slow way down. Always focus on how foods digest and look into food combining for proper digestion. When I focus on fasting methods and eating more simply & raw, I FEEL the results in more hydrated skin, more clarity, and great digestion. Healing comes from the inside out, we gotta help our detox channels in every way we can! 👍 #eczemaholistichealing

Meet Up with Fellow Eczema Warrior Abby!

A few weekends ago, I finally got the chance to meet Abby, of Prime Physique Nutrition in person! ☺️ We’ve “known” each other for a few years now ever since we connected online and I did a podcast interview on her YouTube channel sharing my eczema healing journey. We’ve kept in contact ever since and have collaborated many times on projects together and have always been there to encourage one another. (Funny enough we share the same birthday: 8.27 ☺️). She’s such a wonderful soul, a true eczema warrior and she does such great work helping eczema sufferers in their healing process. It was wonderful chatting over some delicious vegan Caribbean food and playing with her super adorable baby Cooper. How about this random wall behind us draped in hanging bras though?? 😜 LOL! Keep up the awesome work you do Abby, we need more people like you in this world 🙏💜
